Finally I rocked the dance floor….. :)

From the 1st year I was dreaming of dancing on the rang manch(GIET, Gunupur dancing floor)..
Lastly it happened in final year…
Only for the sake of dancing,I came early from home and the day I reached hostel, my first thought was about my group (which was formed one year before…). We were 6 together in the group(myself,Riki,Maus,Swati,Munu,Suni).We were decided to choreograph at least two songs before other audition. We were feeling tired that day due to the hectic journey from heven(home) to hell(hostel) but, still ready to dance. Then I started downloading dance videos. Faced lots of problems while downloading like our so-called wi-fi wireless internet connection was fantastically very very slow. But finally I succeeded .The next problem was song selection.The song must be unique and should not collide with others.
While preparing for GATE-2009 (not qualified) at home , I always kept thinking of the theme, song, costume bla bla bla.... I chose 5-6 songs out of which one was selected by my friends that was the Oscar winning song …Jai Ho…(Slumdog Millionaire).We then started choreographing for this song. Hit and trial method….we saw some videos got some steps and put those on the song beats but all in vein… every step was out of the beat .we got blanked for some moment. I was watching a video of Jai Kumar(ma recent dancing crush) dance on the song dus bahane……. in Boogie Woogie and at the same time Maus was playing jai ho… song on her cell. Suddenly I marked that the steps in that video matched to our song .Bas uske baad hum ho goye suru …..
More than half of the song was choreographed...who kehte he na “gane gane pe likha he nachnewale ka naam”…..
Then Munu suggested another song chori chori… from the movie EMI and showed us a video on that song. We saw that and copied it…he he…God damn!!!we are so good at copying.
Then the biggest problem came and stumped us.By the time we informed about the dance to Swati who was still at home,she left her JAVA course on the half way n back .Then again the very other member stepped back and again we were blanked out.
Thanks to God (Maa Tarini) that we got a substitute (Suni) from the junior and she came out to be a good dancer and picked up all the steps in a short period of time.
Audition day…and we were the first to perform.While dancing I was shivering like a sheep. We were selected and praised by everyone present over there.We were so happy...haan ush din bhi bohot drama hua tha…yet that is another story.
4 days left for our final performance and still we were lagging by one song. By seeing some more videos and songs we were finally done with 6 mins performance just 2 days before and practiced to synchronize. Again we were cropped with another problem that was costume. Anyhow we managed…..Thanks to Gunupur expertise tailor to stitch a set of 6 kurtas just in 12 hrs ,grabbing a good amount from us. But my hearty thanks to my dearest friends Rashmi, Dipu, Prags , Lipi, Ranjita ,Alu,Pranks,Gita ,Sriyanka for their support and helping us to get rid of all problems.
Long awaited day (8th March 2009) came, the day when my dream of dancing from my childhood was going to be true. The 6 mins dance was going to be my most memorable moment. Before the dance,I had mixed feelings of both excitement and nervousness.
And finally I was on the stage with my group (DEWDROPS). During the dance I did 2-3 mistakes but still I was dancing with joy and full energy. Tha last song jai ho….Aaja Aaja Jind Shamiyane Ke Tale Aaja Jariwale Nile Aasman Ke Tale tale…..jai ho…suddenly the song was paused and we were standing dumb and blanked. I was feeling like crying and thinking,might be I didn’t copy the song to the pen drive correctly.
At the back stage the dance coordinator was saying something but we were not in a state to listen anything. We all were just looking at each other and ... Some one was saying us to start the dance from half and we almost agreed to him but then,Maus said that we won’t get the full video of our performance.Then Riki and Munu talked to the coordinator that we will dance from the starting. They agreed and again we started dancing on the same song ,same steps but this time we danced till the song stopped. Our 6 mins performance(shortest) was converted into 11 mins (longest). This was the best moment of my life. Dewdrops rocks………..JAI HO…

First of all thanks to Binnie Bhai (my frend's big bro) my first inspiration to create a blogspot....

His khatta mitha blogs were so very interesting that I was driven towards creation of this account.. I m quite excited while writing this and hope this excitation goes on and on.........
